David J. Vidal

Director of the Center for Corporate Citizenship & Sustainability, The Conference Board


David Vidal is responsible for research and program development in corporate responsibility, corporate philanthropy, and community engagement. In addition to establishing The Conference Board's citizenship and sustainability program and representing it as a thought leader in forums around the world, he has supervised research in business conduct and ethics, served as publisher of Across the Board, now The Conference Board Review magazine, and innovated programs in corporate security, pandemic preparedness, and Web casting.

David joined The Conference Board in 1997, continuing a multi-faceted career spanning management and staff positions at the Council on Foreign Relations, Continental Insurance, the New York City Partnership, the U.S. Department of State, The New York Times, and The Associated Press.

He has a bachelor's degree in language and literature from Princeton University and a master's degree in business administration from Columbia University. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of the Arts, Manufactures & Commerce, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a Fulbright Scholar, and a White House Fellow.
