Challenging Board Practice: Governance as Leadership

This session invites nonprofit board members and executives to challenge prevalent governance practice – in which boards often focus on routine, sometimes marginal tasks, and to explore a new framework for governance. Based on the book Governance as Leadership, learn about a series of governing modes that, taken together, offer trustees more meaningful, consequential work resulting in better governed organizations.

This session is especially useful for leaders of organizations who understand governance basics, yet seek resources to tap into their boards' full potential and to more effectively engage their boards in more substantive issues.
