Col. William "SHoes" DelGrego, , USAF Retired, Vice President, Accenture National Security Services, LLC
Mentoring, done well, is an attribute of all high-performing organizations. But what distinguishes a truly effective mentoring program? This session provides unique insight into the advantages of a strong and well-defined mentoring program from a retired military officer who received and delivered mentoring while in the United States Air Force and who, as a corporate executive, remains committed to active mentoring and counseling activities.
Key questions are essential to understanding the dynamics and benefits of mentoring: What is the role of a quality mentoring program? What must be understood about the trusted counselor role, the essential relationship definition, and the importance of direct personal and professional counseling from "mentor" to "mentee”? And how does a nonprofit board, especially during times of great organizational stress, develop an exemplary mentoring program that pays future dividends?
