This year, BoardSource has implemented a few social media initiatives in hopes of improving your conference experience.

On Twitter, BoardSource is using the hashtag #BLeadership during the conference. See all of the Tweets containing the hashtag #BLeadership.

Hashtag
If you are unfamiliar with hashtags, here's a quick explanation:

A hashtag allows people to follow Twitter comments related to a particular subject or event. This works by using the Twitter search. People posting to Twitter agree to use a specific tag. When a person tweets, they include the tag in the message. Then, when people go to the Twitter search and type in the tag, they will see all of the tweets that contain the tag.

For the BoardSource Leadership Forum, we are using the hashtag #BLeadership. That means that people posting tweets related to the BoardSource Leadership Forum should include #BLeadership in their tweet.

Be advised that BoardSource has no control over the content that appears with the hashtag. Any person with a twitter account could use the hashtag in a post.

Leadership Forum Account
BoardSource is tweeting using the account BLeadership. You are welcome to follow BLeadership during the conference. Please note that this will allow you to see the tweets from BoardSource, but not from attendees. See Tweets by BLeadership from BoardSource

Direct Messages
You can send a direct message through Twitter that will go only to BoardSource. To send a direct message, start your tweet with the letter d, a space, and BLeadership. Example: "d BLeadership Hello BoardSource." In order for the direct messages to go through to BoardSource, you need to follow BLeadership.

Final Note
While we hope that using Twitter at the conference will be beneficial, we are, to a certain extent, relying on Twitter and have no control of outages, sluggishness, service disruptions and/or inappropriate tweets.
